Global terrorism:
In an effort to stop global terrorism and educate the world about violent extremism’s reach across all religions, cultures, countries, and ideologies, the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development asked for innovative ideas from around the world.
solution
The solution was the creation of an action-based think tank featuring 39 peacemakers from 22 different countries to use the power of art to mitigate violent extremism. The project reached around the world bringing together sons of terrorists, former extremists, victims of terror, Rabbis, Imams, pastors, atheists, scientists, psychologists, therapists, artists, filmmakers, musicians, community organizers, journalists, teachers, professors, economist, and experts in countering violent extremism (CVE) to meet in an action-therapy sessions in Venice, Brussels, and Washington, D.C.
The goal was to create three action plans for using the power of art to mitigate extremist violence. Our Senior Creative Director, Aaron Straight, was asked to be on the think tank and created a documentary about the project. The project was cut short by Covid-19, but we were still able to create a documentary about the project and continue to work with members of the think tank to this day.
