Under new leadership, Sealaska changed course to prioritize the values of their people. Divesting from logging, stocks, and international markets, they were now investing in carbon sequestration, native language revitalization, and their own people's innovations based in the ways of their ancestors.
They needed to tell that story back to their community and the world. They went looking for help.
solution
We began our 360-degree storytelling campaign with the revitalization of their annual report , transforming it into a beautiful art and nature magazine with passionate writings from tribal leadership and infographics illustrating the success of their new direction.
Next, we designed and developed a storytelling website featuring incredible silhouette profile photos of their community leaders, from elders to high school students in remote villages, against aerial shots of the land they protected.
Finally, we created three powerful documentaries telling the story of who they are, the difficulties they've overcome, and where they're headed. From these pieces, we also created inspiring social media content to spread their message far and unite the community.
The end result was a powerful healing and coming together driven by Sealaska's leadership and leadership from each of the Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian tribes. We simply helped collect their stories and bring them to life.
