Telling the story of American food to Europe:
Europeans have long held a low opinion of American food. This perception is correct on many levels, but what has often been misrepresented is the quality and care that U.S. farmers, ranchers, and fisherpeople put into their multigenerational craft. The USDA needed help telling the true story of American farmers, ranchers, and fisherpeople.
solution
American politics can be a huge distraction for people abroad to truly understand the American people. So, we created a communication strategy telling regional stories that allowed European viewers to bypass their political issues with the U.S. and revel in the cultural uniqueness of places like Louisiana, Colorado, and Minnesota.
We used the Mississippi River as a backbone for connecting our regional storytelling. The results were stunning. We told the story of Gumbo with a famous fourth-generation New Orleans chef. We told the story of migratory grazing and the rebirth of the bison. We told the story of shrimpers in Louisiana traveling 1,000 miles north to share their bounty with Minnesota farms in efforts to unite together over what pollution and run off goes in the life-giving Mississippi River.
testimonial
People often think of “storytelling” merely as creative expression, but it is so much more than that. In order to be truly impactful, storytelling must be driven by strategy. No one understands this better than Soulcraft Allstars, and that is why they are my go-to. The films they have created for our clients perform better because they are grounded in strategic thinking... Soulcraft Allstars’ unique approach.
